Did you know…
Your home works hard, all year long.
Québec's climate puts our homes to the test. A few facts to understand why.
of our time is spent indoors. The air inside the home matters as much as the air outside.

Québec climateOur mission
Live better at home, spend less.
Heating and cooling are at the heart of a home's comfort and of its energy bill. We believe a better understood and better managed system is one of the simplest ways to make a difference, for your family and for the environment.
Energy efficiency
Reduce equipment energy use without compromising comfort.
Air quality
Healthier indoor air for the whole family.
Environment
Extend equipment life and shrink our collective footprint.
Simplicity
Products that are easy to install, use and maintain.
Season by season
Your home, through the seasons.
Pick a season: three simple steps for better comfort and a lighter bill.
Winter
- Aim for 30% to 50% humidity. Air that is too dry irritates throat and skin; too humid, it causes condensation on windows.
- Lower the temperature at night. A few degrees less while you sleep or are away saves energy without losing comfort.
- Clear snow around outdoor equipment. A snow-covered unit or air outlet works harder for the same result.
Spring
- Air out the house. A few minutes with the windows open refreshes the air that built up over the winter.
- Have your air conditioning checked before the heat. Booking a professional in spring means less waiting than in the middle of a heat wave.
- Clean around the outdoor unit. Leaves and debris reduce airflow and efficiency.
Summer
- Close the blinds during the day. Blocking direct sunlight keeps the house cool much longer.
- Don't over-cool the house. A reasonable gap with the outdoors is more comfortable and uses far less energy.
- Enjoy the cool nights. When the outside air cools down, opening the windows does the job for free.
Fall
- Schedule the annual heating maintenance. A well-maintained system is safer, more efficient and lasts longer.
- Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. A two-minute task that protects the whole family.
- Weatherstrip doors and windows. Cold air leaks are one of the most common sources of heat loss.
